This week, profits from your purchase will be donated to Big Hair Animal Rescue. They've made a call for more donations, and I'd like to help answer it.
Not only that, but when you donate, I'll match it with my own money for the first $500.
We're entering the holiday season - lets make it a good one for a worthy cause.
You could say we have a new forum, but in essence I renamed the MessageBoard and then added instructions on how to use it.
I'd really like to see some of you who come here daily make the most of it. The more feedback I get from you fans, the better the next book is going to be
The Intermission Series is Complete!
All three books are ready for you to download - just click the Fovean Chronicles Intermission icon, and then the image of the book you want to read!
We're currently arranging to give the profits for the first week to a charity that rescues dogs. Stand by for more on that!
Here's the latest updates on the Intermission series, my loyal fans.
Well, book one, Daddy's Girl, is about done. I just got in the final edit and I have to review that, then it's put to bed
Book two, Not Your Father's Eldador Empire, is off to the printer for approval, and needs a couple tweaks before it's ready.
Book three, Prodigal Son, is next for final edit - I'll have the hard copy next week
We are ON TRACK for a spring release, and you should all REALLY enjoy it!
New reviews across the board this morning - it was great to see someone who REALLY appreciates the series.
Daddy's Girl is almost through editing. Not Your Father's is next, then I'll release all three at the same time. We should have a heck of a spring
Indomitus Est is now free
Indomitus Est was so popular as a free book, that I've made it permanently free on Amazon.com. Now you can get into the series at zero risk to your wallet, just your time.
Meanwhile, I've finished Daddy's Girl and will be releasing the entire Intermission series this spring - that should be one way for us all to transition from the cold to the warm.
More as it happens!
Happy Friday the 13th to all of those who fear things like this. Personally, not me, but a healthy fear keeps a lot of people from doing all of the crazy crap that I do, so there you go!
The free giveaway of Indomitus Est is over, and I'm proud to say we gave away about 1,500 issues. Now everyone is starting to get into Vivat and Oriens, which is awesome!
One thing I'm trying to do is to get Sum to list with the series on Amazon. There's some issue with CreateSpace where it forgets that a book is part of a series, and they can't fix it, and that screws up Kindle entries.
Another thing I'm working toward is promoting the free book, "The Fifty Reasons Why it's Great to be a Man!". I've automated the web site where you can get register for a free pdf of the book under 'Other Books.' Click the option on the menu and check it out!
Indomitus Est for Free You've got that right, you can get the first book in he series for FREE on Amazon. Read it, enjoy it and then decide for yourself if you'd enjoy the rest of the series.
Meanwhile, I'm adding some more to the website so that you can follow and state opinions on the series, share your ideas and let me know how you feel.
Finally, check out the 'Other Books' section to get 'The Fifty Reasons Why It's Great to be a Man' for FREE
The Fifty Reasons Why it's Great to be a Man
I released this book a few years ago, it sold pretty well, then I took it off of the shelves. Well, not it's back with a vengeance, and it's absolutely free. Go to the Other Books section and learn more!
Welcome to the new web site
I've been crazy busy with writing, editing and advertising, so this is just a short message that I'll improve on later.
From the 23rd of June to the 1st of July, it's a sales extravaganza! Get any of the three Fovean
Chronicles books for 99 cents!!
Why so cheap? It's both an effort to get the word out, and to give people in this terrible economy
the chance to get something for as close to nothing as I can bring it!
If you have a friend who 'doesn't understand why you like those books,' this is the perfect
opportunity to show them why.
We just had a fund raiser with Big Fluffy Dog Rescue and raised just under $1,000 for their coffers. In the process, the books REALLY climbed up the ladder on Amazon, and we found some new fans.
I think this is a better venue for the books. I'd MUCH rather give money to charities than to online magazines and readers, especially considering it seems to work better.
So if you're reading this, and you think you'd like to try working with me to get money to your charity, the deal is that we coordinate our advertising, we set a time frame, and you get 100% of the profits for the time of sales. I'll match those profits for the first $2,000 (this is my advertising budget).
Your supporters get something for their donation right away, AND they know that their donation is twice as effective.
Welcome to all of our friends from TownHall!
The Fovean Chronicles are the story of Randy Morden, a man from our world, who fines in himself in a
magical realm, the pawn of a god named "War" Unlike most of the fantasy novels you'll read on Amazon,
the Fovean Chronicles are for Conservatives, by a Conservative. That means:
A main character who lives by the
principles we believe in!
Enjoy the Fovean Chronicles!
Fund the finish! - I plan to finally finish the novels and end the series. Help fund the effort! For the right donation, you can end up as a character in the novels!
Welcome to the new site!!!
I've been working on this for months, ever since I was able to buy swordsandsorcery.com, and changed my mind about a million times as to what I want.
I finally decided that I needed to get the Fovean Chronicles stuff out first, then I could write the additional software to allow other authors to publish their books here.
Finally I'll add a forum and the ability to discuss the books - so stand by.
Meanwhile, you should be seeing Indomitus Vivat this month!
What's going on with the Fovean Chronicles, you ask? Well, actually, a lot. As many of you know, the Chronicles was picked up by Sky Warrior Books, and that means that we're officially published. What that also means is that the books go back through the editing process, and won't be available until this summer. So, no, you're not going to have them for a while. However, yes, when they DO come available, you're going to get it all. The new Indomitus Sum, the whole three book intermission AND the finally - and maybe an extra book for your troubles. Being nationally published means that we'll have access to resources that will really improve your reading experience. I think this is going to be a great move for you fans!
Indomitus Sum, the fourth book in the Fovean Chronicles, is done. I'm currently waiting on the cover art and then moving on to the Intermission. That's going kind of slow. Daddy's Girl has always given me a lot of trouble but this time I'm commited to finishing it.
More information as the situation evolves. This should be an interesting year.
Indomitus Oriens is available on Kindle! For those of you who couldn't wait, this is the book you've been waiting for, available now! You're going to see more indepth characters, more back story, better explanations - it's a whole new experience and answers a lot of questions!
Well, loyal fans, the Fovean Chronicles are going to be represented by Sky Warrior Publishing. Between when this takes effect and now, you can still buy the original books as collectors items on Amazon and through Create Space.
I'm really excited about working with Sky Warrior. I think this is going to be the point when the series REALLY takes off, and now that I can focus on writing and not marketing, we can complete the Chronicles and get all of the pieces together!
Indomitus Oriens is in the final stages of the rewrite.
Very soon you'll be able to read the rewritten book. There are new characters, new plot twists, more depth and, essentially, a better story that I assure you you'll love.
This will be my Christmas present to you, my loyal readers.
Here's the latest on Indomitus Est:
Amazon Best Sellers Rank: #10,993 Paid in Kindle Store
#68 in Kindle Store > Kindle eBooks > Fiction > Fantasy > Historical
#77 in Books > Science Fiction & Fantasy > Fantasy > Historical
#78 in Books > Science Fiction & Fantasy > Fantasy > Magic & Wizards
In other words, it is becoming a really popular series, and Indomitus Vivat is right behind the first story!
I've got two things to let you all know, my loyal fans: 1. Do not buy Indomitus Oriens yet, because the rewrite is almost done, and a lot of the stuff in there is going to change. If you already bought it, email me and I'll get you a newer version
2. I made an update to chapter one of Indomitus Est. It's in chapter one, it's huge and some fans say it changes the whole contexts of the book. You can read it in the preview section. Kindle, Nook and the paperback versions are already updated.
I'm toying with the idea of a giveaway of book 3, Indomitus Oriens. If you're interested, keep following the page. It will happen soon.
In case you haven't noticed, there's a new Home page for Swords and Sorcery. If you have an opinion of it, I'd love to hear some feedback on it.
Indomitus Oriens is going to be done soon. I've got some editing to do, but for those of you who thought that story went too fast, you'll see more character development, more detail and a couple changes to the plot.
Everyone have a great fall and enjoy some football!
Indomitus Oriens is nearly done with the rewrite. If you've read it before, it should be different enough where you can still enjoy it. If you're new to it, it's a follow up to Vivat. Even if you read the original Indomitus Est you should pick it right up, as I wrote it as a stand-alone novel.
I'm looking to get some feedback on the novels. Also, if you buy it on Kindle or Nook, please leave feedback!
In other news, just had my birthday, so I'm a little behind on the Indomitus Oriens rewrite. It should be done before the end of the month, tho, so stay tuned!
Good news and then even more good news, loyal fans!
The good news is that Indomitus Vivat is now available in soft cover through Amazon. The other good news is that you can now download the first two books on Nook! I'll have better URL's in the purchase section, but enough of you let me know that you preferred Nook over Kindle that I made it happen.
I haven't been as up to date on the website as I want to be, and I'm working on that right now.
Indomitus Oriens is in rewrite and should be ready during October 2012. Then we should have the next book in the series before the end of the year.
If you've taken a look at the bottom of the website page, you've noticed there's a link looking for support for the Fovean Chronicles.
. Well, my loyal fans - this may be the beginning. I'm finally gearing up to take this show on the road and get behind some marketing.
I can't say I'm sure at all that this will work. I can say that this is what it will take to get the word out to enough people to have a hope that The Chronicles will support me.
So if you have a couple extra bucks and are sick or waiting to see what's going on in Fovea...
Indomitus Vivat is finally done! Yes, loyal fans, it's all over but the editing. I'll be getting a hard copy, do a run through, and then you'll be able to buy it.
Next, the rewrite of Indomitus Oriens
Wow - been a little while since I updated the news. Here's what's going on:
I've been working on Indomitus Vivat, a new 'book two' in the series, which is the result of trimming down Indomitus Est and then fleshing out a little more of Randy's life.
The Indomitus Oriens rewrite is next, and then a new, fourth book, and then a rewrite of the Intermission to adjust it for time.
This should ideally be done in the next year, and then I'm thinking maybe a book tour. Who'd like to meet your beloved author? Go to the Community section and give me your opinions!
If you've come to the site before, you've probably noted a few changes. Better buttons in the menu, for one thing, and now you can actually read the books on the site.
There's also a new book two afoot - Indomitus Vivat. Book One had been broken up into two shorter books and I've fleshed out some things that there were questions about.
Also, there's a wordpress forum in the Community section. I think everyone is going to enjoy it a lot more.
Now you can read the books online, right here! That's right, I've finally moved the books to the website, and you can read them and, what's better, you can make notes on them, and you can send those notes to your beloved author!
Just go to the 'Buy the Books' page, and then then click 'read online' and you're all set.
Enjoy the Fovean Chronicles!
Now you can read the books online! Well, the previews, anyway - I have Inomitus Est and Indomitus Oriens out on the site, and you can read the Prologue and the first two chapters by going to the 'Buy the Books' page, and then clicking the 'Read' button under Previews. I'll have the other two books out tonight, and I'll be finishing Daddy's Girl in January, so you can read the whole Intermission.
Winter is a good time for getting things done, and this is going to be a big winter.
More big happenings at the actual site today.
First of all, you can now send me an email, and I'll get it, so if you've been thinking that your beloved author is a snob, that's not true. I'm just overworked and didn't realize that the 'send email' button on the email page didn't do anything.
Second, if you're using the new Writer's Forum, you can now crit the works of others. I'll be doing more work on that site next week.
If you see anything that needs improvement, let me know! And, now, you can actually let me know, because the email page works.
I heard this Psalm today and it just sent my brain racing: Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men. psalm 59:2
With Daddy's Girl almost done, I'm thinking of the next book in the series: Indomitus Sine Iniquitas. It is time to shake things up - and it is going to be amazing
Daddy's Girl wins the NaNoWriMo!
Don't be too impressed, all this means is that the first 50,000 words are done. If you're one of the people who pre-read Not Your Father's Eldadorian Empire, hang on to your copy because it's going to be tweaked a little and you've got a collector's item. Also, contact me and I'll send you the updated copy.
Prodigal Son was my first NaNoWriMo win and that took me a year to edit. I think we're looking at six months for this one.
Then I think I'll be getting aggressive with the advertising for the Fovean Chronicles.
You're in a very exciting time right now - stay tuned
A New News Board! We were due for a better news group. With the NaNoWriMo in full swing and your beloved author almost done with the rough draft of Daddy's Girl, it was a good time to take a break and improve! More later!
Now you can buy Not Your Father's Eldadorian Empire on the website, either through Amazon or Kindle.
This is Book One of The Intermission, three short novels which run concurrently between Indomitus Oriens and the next book in the series.
You can read The Intermission whether or not you've read any of the other books, without ruining them for you. This lets you dip your feet into the Fovean pool, and test the waters before you swim!
Ok, I figured out today that the Community pages weren't letting anyone add to them, and fixed them
You should be able to use them now
Today I went to a workshop on marketing your novel by Ann Crispin. For those of you who don't know her, she's the founder of Writer Beware and the author of several books. The workshop wasn't bad - she didn't care for the novels but gave some good ideas on marketting them regardless, and I came up with a few new ideas for new stories. As well, it led to a new writer's forum being added to the site.
Stand by for some expansion on Swords and sorcery!
Not Your Father's Eldadorian Empire is now available on Amazon. I'll have links for you later this weekend. Those of you who have been waiting for the first book to start reading the Intermission can now begin. The third book, 'Daddy's Girl', will be available later this year. Happy 4th of July, all!
Well, my loyal readers, here it is - the new and improved site. As you can see, there are still a few bugs to shake out, but when you're writing programs AND novels AND managing a 7 acre horse farm on your own (pretty much) it can be a little time intensive
The ability to read the books will be back up and improved shortly. You'll also be able to edit and update your data online, which I've gotten some feedback on.
If you spot a bug on the page, let me know!
Pending Website Upgrade: I'm going to be upgrading the site to ASP.Net 4.0, meaning that we are FINALLY going to have the forum in place.
I've been doing a lot of research on my play-site: The Guf, and developed a pretty good forum which I'm going to put into place here. While a lot of things about the site will look the same, it will be running better and there will be new features.
Thank the good people at Go Daddy for helping me do this for free.
Not Your Father's Eldadorian Empire is off to the printers and will be available soon. I can't count the number of times I stopped and started that book over the last few years - and to those of you who keep coming here to check up on it, I appreciate it. Now it's time to finish Daddy's Girl, which I'm thinking might be happening around this year's NaNoWriMo.
Book one of the Intermission Not Your Father's Eldadorian Empire is COMPLETE. I am editing the gallies right now and artist extaordinaire Jennifer Brady is doing the cover art. Very soon you will be able to actually begin the Intermission, and the stories themselves will continue. I'm sorry for the long pause in writing. It was a lot of things, but mostly writer's block, and you just have to wade through it. Good news is that the next book, Daddy's Girl should be done this year as well.
Been a while since I've updated this, but it's been a while since I've written anything, either. Sorry, but it's been a long, hard writer's block and I'm just starting to come out of it. I'll try to get some of the chapters for Daddy's Girl out for those of you who are starving for it.
Well, the NaNoWriMo came and went, and I barely touched it. Before I complete work on Fovea, I am battening the horse farm down for winter, which includes building a barn.
Ever build a barn by yourself? Yeah, that's a lot of fun. My thumb will mostly grow back before Christmas hopefully and, like a cat, if I fall off of a roof, I tend to mostly land on my feet!
The book is on hold until January, I'm afraid.
The NaNoWriMo has begun. Expect to see 'Daddy's Girl' pretty soon! I DID take some time, tho, to upgrade those ugly buttons on the side.
Good news! Good News! Prodigal Son has been released on Amazon, after I spent the last year working on it.
Prodigal Son was my NaNoWriMo project last year, and seeing as I'm about to start another one, Daddy's Girl, I figured it was time to put the first to bed.
Of course, Not Your Father's Eldadorian Empire has been in the background this entire time, so I'd REALLY like to make a final dent in that this month. I guess you've got a very busy writer here.
On a personal note, living on the Tennessee horse farm for my first year has been a great way to get rid of all of that unwanted money! Very rewarding - we've rescued 4 horses this year with our limited resources, and will be welcoming a new horse, Baby Girl next weekend. She's a Tennessee Walking Horse, and what better place to own one? I'll see that she makes it on to the website.
Good news, my little droogies! Prodigal Son is off to the printer and will soon be available for you to purchase.
November is the NaNoWriMo, and I'm thinking that that will be the opportunity to write 'Daddy's Girl.' For that, I'm going to need a female proof reader.
Well, it's time to update this page again, and we're going to start with the community. If you're reading this and you have an idea about what you're like to see in the Community section, then send me an Email and let me know what you think.
Been wondering what's been going on lately? Well, your beloved author has been trying to collect his thoughts for the conclusion of Not Your Father's Eldadorian Empire, which is Book One of the Intermission
This included rereading the entire series, and (go figure this) the completion of Book Three of the Intermission, Prodigal Son which will soon be available online.
Sorry this is going so slowly - I want to provide something really different in the Intermission, and being the first author that I know of to do this sort of thing, I'm blazing new ground here.
If you haven't noticed, Indomitus Oriens has a new cover based on the artwork of Jennifer Lee Brady, and is now available on Amazon.com. I'm also showing where you can get the e-book for less than $4.00.
I'm soon releasing Prodigal Son, as well - so stay tuned!
Well, you might have noticed that the books weren't loading right, like they were supposed to.
Of course, I didn't notice until I loaded a new chapter, but when I did notice, I fixed it.
I guess I should haveb wondered why no one was reading the books.
This was fixed recently
Well, I recovered a lot of the news board. Not the best job of backing up I ever did.
As you can see, I've gotten HTML into the gridview here. It should give a better effect. The best part is that I can do the updates online from anywhere, meaning that you'll be getting better and more News updates.
We're about a week from being able to download Indomitus Oriens on Amazon and, if you go to the Purchase page, you can actually see where you can buy Indomitus Est on Amazon.
I'll be making Prodigal Son available next, and I'm about 1/3 of the way through Not Your Father's Eldadorian Empire
Well, the email is finally fixed. Don't blame me for that one - we're using Go Daddy' here, and it does NOT like to send e-mails. If you'd like to send me an email now, I'll actually get it
OK, loyal fans, it's been a while, I know, but there's some new changes you're going to see on the site.
First of all, you can now buy the books for much less on Amazon and Kindle.
Second, the proceeds now go to equine rescue.
Third - I lost a lot of the news pages here, but you have to start over some times, and this is one of them.
So as I busily crank out the Intermission sub series, tell your friends about the new changes!
Well, it was a heck of a month, but I actually achieved the NaNoWriMo challenge, and wrote 'Prodigal Son,' in 30 days.
It actually turned out really good. You'll be able to download it soon from the web site.
Two entries in the same month - can you guys stand it?
Well, the first thing is that there is another new chapter on the 'Not For Father's Eldadorian Empire' section. This chapter actually turned out very well, and I think you're going to see a lot of stuff come together when you read it.
Now, November is National Novel Writing Month, and what THAT means is that I'll be doing a chapter a day, every day, for thirty days. This is going to be the 'Prodigal Son' book, which is the one that best lends itself to bulling through.
Of course, you'll be getting lots of information posted up for you in November, so I'm going to be getting hot on the forum this week.
Finally, I'd like some feedback on whether you all want notification when a new chapter comes out. I've gotten some feedback that says that it would be easier on the fans.
Let me know!
Well, who knew that there were more than 100 of you waiting to read the new book? I'd better get busier. Right now, I've just moved to Knoxville, TN, and getting the ranch in place. I've polished off two new chapters for you all (see how I say 'you all' now?) and they're under 'Not Your Father's Eldadorian Empire.' Just register to read them.
I've added a log off function for the site, as well as cleaned up the page after when you register. I think that that was confusing for some of you.
I want you to remember that this is YOUR site, too! Go to the contact section and tell me what you'd like to see here.
Some more progress on the site - if you register, you can now start reading the newest book. I'll add the page where you can comment on it next.
Well, the site is another few steps closer to done. I have the email working now and, if you haven't noticed, you
can't download the books from IntWiz.com any more.
I've begun the work on Not Your Father's Eldadorian Empire. It's turning out pretty well.
Many thanks to Jim Davidson for his review of Indomitus Est
That's it for now. I'm finally leaving Hell's Waiting Room - um, I mean, Orlando, FL, so responses here can be spotty.
Ok, here's the deal: Indomitus Oriens is in the final stages of editing, and will soon go to print.
As you can tell, I've pulled the books from IntWiz.com to here, and you can't read them for free anymore.
The next three books will be:
Not Your Father's Eldadorian Empire Daddy's Girl Prodigal Son
These three books will be overlapping interrim books to tie up all of the loose
ends left after Indomitus Oriens. These are going to be shorter books, much
easier to read.
Happy day! Happy day! Book Two is finished.
Ok, kiddies - here's how it works. Now you've got no excuse not to comment (see the Community page). As long as I'm getting feed back, here or on the Sennadar forum, it stays free.
Let me down, and I pull it, and you can pay to read.
Chapter 47 is out - I think the next one does it.
And now for something completely different, I've bought the web site Swords And Sorcery. Was kind of surprised to find that available, actually. Now I'm developing a forum there, and I plan to move this site to there, and drop this site. IntWiz.com has been good for me, but in fact it has almost nothing to do with my books.
Posted an update to chapter 46 - it's a must read. Working on the final chapters now - time to put this to bed, as I'm already working on book three - Indomitus Vincit.
I did another chapter this weekend, AND added the comment section under Community. I think this one is a lot better than the last.
I'm really looking forward to hearing from some of you on how you like the changed ending and the new site.
OK, the big edits are through the grinder and Chapter 44 is finally updated. Looking to hear from people who've read both versions to see what they thing. E-mail me if you have an opinion to share.
Updated the web site - what do you think?
Updated Chapter 43, and starting on 44. Looking very good to put the book to bed this week
Updates are done up to chapter 42 now. If anyone has read both, I'd REALLY like some opinions!
Well, the rewrite is underway, as is the new site. I've just reposted Chapter 40, and updated chapter 41. If you've been following the series, then you really want to reread these chapters.
I'm off this week, so hopefully we're going to finish the first pass on this thing right away.
Tonight I posted the new 39 and 40. I'm leaving the old ones on there for comparison. I'd really like to hear from you all either hear or on the forum, about what you think.
Ok, ok - I know. You're waiting for the end, and you know it's coming. Sorry, kiddies, it's rewrite time. This happens in the creative process, I didn't like how it got where it's going, so it's being rewritten from chapter 39 on.
Happy Veteran's day, everyone. We're at 43 chapter and about 550 book pages now, so plan on then end coming soon. I'm not getting any feedback, and yet about 50 of you hit the site and read me per day. I'd REALLY like to think that this is more to some of you than free reading. If you aren't comfortable leaving the comment in the comments section, then look at the Sennadar link and use the forum there.
Chapter 23 is rewritten to preset the Aschire fear of being alone, which Vulpe mentions in chapter 40 I'm getting ready to close this up.
Well, guys - wish your author a happy 43rd Chapter 38 was rewritten. 40 is almost done
I'd like to hear some opinions under comments about how you feel about the characters - especially Bill/Jack.
Chapter 37 also rewritten. 36 rewritten again to foreshadow Raven's transition and realization of her power
Chapters 34 - 36 have been rewritten to give Raven more of a reaction to Jack's leaving
